The beginning: Jean-Pierre's vision

Founded in 2003 by visual artist Jean-Pierre Breels, Pubmarket was built on a simple yet powerful belief: creativity should connect and not just sell. With a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and a passion for visual storytelling, Jean-Pierre brought a distinctive artistic lens to the world of marketing. His creative DNA shaped Pubmarket from the very beginning, turning it into a place where strategy meets imagination and where brands are built to resonate, endure, and inspire. All with a deep sense of empathy for both people and the stories behind them.

Dorien’s Leadership: A New Era

Nearly two decades later, Jean-Pierre passed the baton to his daughter, Dorien Breels, who became CEO in 2022. With over ten years of experience at Pubmarket, Dorien knew exactly where the agency came from and where it could go next.

Under her leadership, Pubmarket evolved into a sharper, more strategically driven agency with an international outlook. Dorien leads with empathy and entrepreneurial thinking, helping clients grow through tailored brand strategies that combine 
creativity with business impact. Pubmarket has evolved into a strategic marketing and communication agency of 50+ experts. The opening of a second office in Amsterdam and the expansion of our international client base confirm our ambition to build strong brands, across borders.

Beyond Pubmarket, Dorien is also a partner at Entrevest, an investment fund that backs innovative start-ups and scale-ups reshaping traditional sectors. This role 
reinforces her long-standing belief: creativity drives progress, especially when rooted in purpose.
